Filter communications

A big share of Spider power comes from its filtering capabilities that allows you to filter communications in almost any metadata you may think of.

Filtering on the data content is not possible as such, but you may extract tags from the content that would be searchable.

Data filtering is made by combining many search criteria:

  • Whisperer(s), as selected in the menu.
  • Time, as selected by the timeline or time inputs.
  • Filters, as selected by filters dropdown, or by clicking on quickfilters links on the map, tooltips, stats, details...
  • Loaded query, as selected when loading a previously saved query.
  • Free search, freely input by the user.

All these filters are applied dynamically to all data representation in Spider, from the timeline to the stats table.

This Quick Starter part explains you how to make more benefits from quickfilters, then how to edit some to tune your query and save it.
